Dr Brian Ahern

Dr Brian Ahern graduated in Medicine from University College Dublin and went on to complete his postgraduate training in General Practice at University College Cork. He has extensive experience in both hospital and community settings and has developed a broad range of skills that enable him to provide comprehensive care to patients of all ages.
He has gained wide hospital experience across many medical specialties in both Ireland and the UK with the NHS. His training has included posts in paediatrics, endocrinology, cardiology, orthopaedics, palliative care, rheumatology, nephrology, neurology, general surgery, obstetrics and gynaecology, psychiatry, gastroenterology, respiratory medicine, and emergency medicine.

Brian also has a strong interest in the role of medical technology and IT in modern healthcare. Beyond clinical work, Brian values continuity of care and the importance of building long-term relationships with patients. Having grown up in Kilbrittain, he has a strong connection to the local community and takes pride in serving the people of West Cork. He is married and a proud father of three children.
